Brief Description of Position:

Manager, Treasury reporting to Controller, Finance will mainly perform the following responsibilities:

• Liaise with insurance company to get insurance coverage;
• Coordinate with banks for Letter of Credit / Cash Against Documents, validation of Bank Guarantees, Bank Transfer etc.;
• Monitor and approve receipt vouchers, payment vouchers, cheques etc;
• Seek necessary approvals from Director – Finance;
• Coordinate with payroll for monthly transfer of employee salary in order to provide timely release of payments and efficient procurement of imported goods.
• Track receivables from donors;
• Track bank balance and coordinate with banks for Over-Draft limits;
• Resolve internal customer queries related to cash-flow and non-transfers;
• Forecast future expenses to estimate excess funds available;
• Propose investment plan to Director – Finance and seek approval on plan;
• Collect data related to interest rates, investment terms etc. from different banks;
• Evaluate and finalize different propositions along with Director – Finance;
• Invest according to plan and monitor investments were made;
• Suggest any changes in order to provide appropriate cash-flow for functioning of icddr,b.
• Identify areas of risk cover in consultation with Director – Finance;
• Facilitate insurance cover for identified areas / assets;
• Negotiate for terms and conditions of insurance cover;
• Initiate insurance claim/ renewal process;
• Review terms and conditions;
• Direct team to process premium payments in order to decrease icddr,b’s risk exposure to unforeseen circumstances.
• Participate in core group meetings to review existing finance processes and policies;
• Provide inputs for changes and create implementation plans for approved changes;
• Take corrective action in order to decrease average time for processing payments accurately.
• Create annual operational plans;
• Monitor issues through NAVISION regularly to review progress against plans;
• Seek justifications from team and take corrective action;
• Share status reports with Director – Finance for approval in order to process vouchers within defined timelines.
• Promote a spirit of collegiality and gender diversity amongst team members and in the organisation;
• Address and resolve any diversity related issues;
• Set goals and conduct appraisals for the team;
• Mentor young professionals and prepare them for higher responsibilities;
• Take appropriate actions to manage poor performance (such as creating Performance Improvement Plans, coaching, job rotations, planning separations from icddr,b) in order to build and develop an engaged and high performing team.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Masters in Commerce / MBA in Finance and Accounting or relevant subject;
• Minimum 7 years of experience in treasury department in a reputed organisation.

Location: Mohakhali campus, Dhaka.

Contract Type and duration:

• Fixed Term; duration will be 2 Years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Annual 17,98,450/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits
• 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidised canteen. Transport and day-care facilities are subject to space availability.
