The medical Laboratory technician will work closely with other existing MOH lab personnel at PIH supported facilities to improve service by establishing and implementing a Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) through on-site mentorship. As part of PIH’s commitment to helping, strengthen existing health system, PIH though its partnership with the MOH intends to expand the scope of laboratory services at the PIH supported facilities to include clinical laboratory services (Hematology/Blood bank & Chemistry).
Position summary: Under the direction of the laboratory supervisor or designated supervisory staff, the medical laboratory technician performs routine laboratory testing and instrument related duties in a timely manner for patient care, and implementing Quality management system. |

Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.
Our Work In Liberia: Partners In Health (PIH) began supporting the government of Liberia in response to the Ebola epidemic in October 2014. Recognizing the large need for continued investments in the health system after Ebola, PIH is committed to long-term health system strengthening in support of the Ministry of Health (MOH), guided by the same principles as our emergency response and our work around the world: public sector accompaniment, integrated and comprehensive services, social justice, nimbleness and flexibility, partnership, community ownership, and evidence-based interventions. In the aftermath of the epidemic, PIH is committed to supporting the delivery of comprehensive health services in Liberia, from the community level to the health center and to referral hospitals. PIH-Liberia currently has implementation programs at facilities in Maryland County (JJ Dossen Hospital, Pleebo Health center, and Edith-Wallace Health center) and the TB annex Hospital in Monrovia. Through our partnership with other NGO & the MOH through the CHTs, we support a wide range of programs in four other counties in the south East region. |
