Staff clinic provide effective medical services to the employees and their entitled dependents with the objective of ensuring a healthy lives of employees within the guidelines of Staff Clinic services and organizational values and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

The Medical Officer will report to the Senior Medical Officer and will perform following duties and responsibilities.

• Examine sick employees and their entitled dependents and provide them updated judicious treatment;
• Advise patients regarding personal hygiene, other preventive health measures, child rearing practice and family planning methods;
• Refer serious, complicated or chronic patients to outside respective consultant/hospital/clinic;
• Identify and administer tests, if required (e.g. blood test, x-ray);
• Interpret test results to the patients;
• Consult with senior doctor, if required regarding health issues of the patients;
• Diagnose condition of the patient and prescribe treatment;
• Follow-up patients and the treatment;
• Enter and update SHEBA database with different data like history of illness, clinical findings, advised laboratory investigations and treatment cost etc.
• Train other staffs in basic rules and procedures followed at icddr,b;
• Coach junior staffs on the job on an ongoing basis;
• Prepare and present reports on certain cases, incidents initiatives etc. during team meetings and department meeting
• Attend different trainings / clinical sessions;
• Arrange different awareness session for the employees of icddr,b;
• Develop and demonstrate interest in a particular specialty in order to acquire new skills

Required qualification and experience:

• MBBS degree from a reputed institution with valid BMDC (Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council) registration;
• Minimum 5 years professional experience; Post-graduate training from any reputed Hospital will be preferable;

Location: Dhaka

Contract Type and duration:

• Fixed Term Contract; duration will be for 2 years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Annual Tk. 14,59,020/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.
• 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
