Are you passionate about M&E?
The Monitoring, Evaluations, Research, Learning (MERL), and Accountability Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that Plan International’s programs are impactful, efficient, and accountable. Based in White Nile with frequent travel to various states in Sudan, this role requires someone who can lead, collaborate, and innovate to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of a large-scale program funded by the Dutch Relief Alliance.

What will you do?
As the MERL & Accountability Coordinator, you will:

Lead the MERL and accountability working group, providing technical support to consortium partners in developing and implementing M&E plans.
Ensure that M&E performance indicators are integral to all levels of program planning.
Support data collection, verification, and analysis, ensuring that the information gathered is accurate, timely, and used to guide decision-making.
Develop and document best practices in monitoring and evaluation, and support the dissemination of these practices across the consortium.
Strengthen and support the Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) system for consortium partners, ensuring a unified feedback mechanism and robust referral system.
Prepare and circulate periodic reports, dashboards, and other documents to keep stakeholders informed of program progress.

What do you need to bring?
To excel in this role, you’ll need:

A university degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, along with proficiency in data management and statistical analysis tools.
The ability to work independently, anticipate team needs, and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
Experience working with community organizations, NGOs, and government agencies.

The physical environment requirements for this role include:

primarily working in an office setting with frequent travel, approximately 30%, to program areas. This may involve exposure to remote and challenging conditions during field visits, requiring adaptability to different climates and environments.
