The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
WFP has been assisting Sahrawi Refugees in Algeria since the mid-1980s. Currently, WFP provides in-kind assistance to the refuges as its biggest activity, as well as school meal, nutrition treatment and prevention and livelihood and resilience projects. These activities are thoroughly monitored by the Monitoring and evaluation team. The Monitoring Assistance will visit the camp and monitor WFP related distribution and activities using already established monitoring tools and questionnaire. The Monitoring Assistant will always assist in the data cleaning and analysis, report writing and drafting of monitoring plans. The Monitoring Assistant will report to monitoring and evaluation Associate / Team leader .
At this level work is carried out under minimum supervision. Job holders are expected to produce organised and accurate technical work and reports. They may provide guidance on standard practices to other staff and counterparts in their area of work.
To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

Education:
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional (food security and nutrition, humanitarian, statistics, geography, or related fields) area is desirable.

Fluency in both spoken and written communication in English and French is a requirement. Proficiency in spoken Arabic is required.
