ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This position is based in Freetown and reports to the head of RAM.

THE ROLE: To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and program activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

  • Support the design and management of data collection tools, particularly for VAM and M&E surveys. This involves setting up questionnaires, developing data collection protocols, and utilizing tools in electronic data collection (Open Data Kit (ODK)) for gathering field data.
  • Collect and summarise assistance programme(s) data, collaborating with cooperating partners where required, conduct analysis and prepare reports in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  • Maintain and update national and regional databases, ensuring data quality, data confidentiality and consistency across WFP offices and teams. The role also includes rationalizing data storage systems to enhance accessibility and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare data reports and dashboards using tools such as R, SPSS, Tableau, and ArcGIS to present real-time visualizations of food security, price monitoring, and vulnerability metrics.
  • Suggest improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the assistance programmes towards data driven decision.
  • Provide standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, data management, data analysis, ODK, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to independently self-monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good knowledge of data, data management and programming
  • Experience in specialized statistical software (SPSS/R/python/Stata)
  • Ability to plan and conduct neutral analysis and reporting

Language: Fluency in English both oral and written communication.
