Organizational Setting
The Division of Energy Planning and Nuclear Information and Knowledge comprises the Planning and Economic Studies Section, Nuclear Knowledge Management Section and the Nuclear Information Section. The Division is responsible for strengthening capacities in energy and nuclear power planning, building capacities to manage nuclear knowledge and provide knowledge management services to interested member states, and to procure and provide printed and electronic information in the area of nuclear science and technology.
The Planning and Economic Studies Section has two objectives. One objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to perform their own analyses related to electricity and energy system development, energy investment planning and energy–environment policy formulation and to understand the associated economic implications. The other objective is to improve understanding of the potential role of nuclear energy in the context of mitigating climate change and contributing to sustainable energy development.
Main Purpose
The consultant will provide expert advice to DIR-NEPIK on matters related to fundraising and advocacy strategies for engagement of private sector and other non-traditional donors in supporting high priority programmatic activities of the division, inter alia, Atom4NetZero.
Functions / Key Results Expected
With guidance of DIR-NEPIK and Resource Mobilization Coordinator, the consultant:
· Develops a sound, achievable, comprehensive fundraising plan with specific focus on non-traditional donors.
· Develops outreach strategy for major partners ensuring that the strategy is adequately diversified and includes tactics, tools and approaches in specific areas, including outreach to major private sector companies, banks, foundations, etc.
· In close collaboration with different stakeholders develops communications and advocacy materials for technical audiences and key relationships.
· Generates innovative ideas regarding donor’s recognition and organisation of events with relevant external stakeholders, including donor’s events.

Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree – in Journalism, Business Development, International Relations, or a related field.
· Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
· Demonstrated communication skills and experience in developing strategic partnerships.
· A proven record of external communications, resource development and advocacy.
· Excellent knowledge of the private sector, including the investment principles and practices.
· Solid analytical and presentation skills.
· Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 350, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
