Your responsibilities
Are you passionate about network automation and cutting-edge technologies? Join CERN’s IT network engineering team to enhance and streamline the software tools that automate the management and operation of CERN’s extensive network infrastructure (some 200 high capacity routers and 4000 switches supporting various workloads ranging from campus users to multi-terabit data acquisition systems for LHC’s experiments, high-speed data centre interconnects and dedicated connections to external sites). As a software engineer you will join the team that develops software to enable new features and services on the network infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work with open-source tools (Linux operating system and Python based network management tools like NAPALM and Capirca) and state-of-the art model driven network configuration management (based on NETCONF and YANG).

What we offer
About us
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
Diversity has been an integral part of CERN’s mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization. Employing a diverse workforce is central to our success.
