The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.
CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. We are investing in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing. With each new and innovative program, our strategy is grounded in maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, that programs are designed to scale nationally, and learnings are shared globally.

Country Program Overview
CHAI began working in Cambodia in 2005 to help the Ministry of Health tackle the rise in HIV by introducing better treatment for adults and children and eliminating mother-to-child transmission. The CHAI Cambodia office has grown rapidly since its inception to manage multiple projects. In addition to HIV, CHAI is now supporting the Ministry of Health to tackle the burden of disease TB, eliminate malaria and address multi-drug resistance, save the lives of women through improved access to lifesaving reproductive health care, enhance immunization systems, increase oxygen availability at all levels of the health system, strengthen laboratory services, and more. Looking ahead, we wish to support the Cambodia Ministry of Health achieves its goals for non-communicable diseases (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, cancer, mental health).
Position Overview
CHAI is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The New Initiatives Manager will act as a thought partner to the Country Director and Deputy Country Director on new opportunities and will be responsible for a variety of activities from proposal development and design to supporting the launch of new projects and their monitoring. The position will be based in Phnom Penh with occasional travel. The New Initiatives Manager will report to the Country Director and interact closely with other CHAI Cambodia Project Managers on areas related to potential new initiatives.

We seek a highly committed and adaptable individual with a track record of delivering quality results with limited resources. This individual should be able to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure, unstructured environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will also possess cultural sensitivity skills and demonstrate high emotional intelligence, as they will be working closely with government and external partners.
