Mission of Supply Chain Management is to deliver value to the organization by fostering good governance and embedding effective control in the supply chain functions. The Supply Chain team serves as a centralized purchasing and material management process. The Supply Chain team drives effective commercial outcomes for the acquisition of goods, services and works for the stakeholders.

Brief Description of Position:

Officer, Supply Chain reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain will mainly perform the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct sourcing activities as per the requirements generated by the internal customers;
  • Plan and process for timely procurement from local or foreign sources which brings value for money;
  • Support project procurement vendor sourcing requirements as well as on-demand vendor sourcing requirements;
  • Invite price quotations or proposal through RFQ/RFP/ITB in accordance with the specifications/ BoQ/ ToR following supply chain governance policy and procedures;
  • Prepare comparative statement (CS) based on the tenders received for the review of technical expert and tender evaluation committee;
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions before selection of supplier;
  • Generate and award contract and purchase orders ensuring accuracy, completeness with tender terms and compliance with organization’s policy, procedures and donor guidelines;
  • Review the supply of materials against POs based on ETA. Keep track on the pending PRs and seek clarifications from the stakeholders if required;
  • Follow-up with the suppliers till delivery of materials and take corrective actions if discrepancies are found;
  • Ensure that supplier deliveries are in line with contract requirements;
  • Respond to the internal customer queries regarding the status of procurement and provide necessary information;
  • Collaborate with cross- functional teams including logistics, finance, internal customers and other connected stakeholders;
  • Implement the cost savings initiatives by developing new sources and long-term contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply;
  • Aim to achieve a balance between five parameters (5R’s of Procurement) in the supply chains;
  • Maintain the supplier database, procurement records, and related documentation as per organization and donor guidelines;
  • Adhere to high moral standard , organization’s policies, procedures and code of conduct.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s in Business Administration/ Relevant Subject with Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (PGDSCM);
  • 4 years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Management in a reputed organization;

Location: Mohakhali campus, Dhaka.

Contract Type and Duration:

  • Fixed Term; duration will be 2 Years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

  • Annual 7,18,800/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits
  • 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and day-care facilities are subject to space availability.
