Your team

Within the Network Management Directorate, the “Network Operations” ensures the efficient and effective provision of H24 Network Manager core operations and of the supporting operational services and the overall achievement of the service’s objectives.

Job holders carry out duties which ensure the continuous operation of the Network Manager (NMD) Operational Services whether by means of shifts, individualised duty rosters, rolling stand-by duty at home, or secondment as support for a period of less than 12 consecutive months.

Your role

Your role will be to :

  • Execute tactical flow management operational processes from a network perspective.
  • Maintain a good level of coordination with the FMPs in order to negotiate the best possible pre-tactical and tactical solutions including negotiating improved capacity, applying regulations where necessary and proposing and implementing re-routing scenarios.
  • Continuously adapt plans and propose new solutions taking into consideration ever changing circumstances.
  • Proactively provide all reasonable assistance to airspace users and air navigation service providers to allow them to optimise their operations.
  • Contribute to the principles of network optimisation and collaborative decision-making during all relevant ATFCM processes.
  • Participate in the improvement of quality and efficiency of operational processes, activities and services.
  • Provide feedback through normal operational processes, and reports to line management on request.
  • Execute all functions in accordance with defined operational procedures.
  • Participate in tests and projects in support of operations e.g. testing, training, documentation, incident management exercises, validations.
  • Act as OJTI for colleagues.
  • Work combinations of shift duties with or without night duties as required by their functional assignment.
  • Manage teleconferences as required by operational circumstances.
  • Work temporarily in support functions during office hours.
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Professional training (e.g. studies, working experience, etc) relevant to job role and responsibilities.
  • The establishment on the job is subject to an internal certification (validation).
  • Minimum 3 years valid rating as ATCO, or 5 years NMOC validation.
  • Working knowledge of ATC, and knowledge of NMOC Flow management systems, operational procedures and relevant applications and tools
  • Experience with MS Office.

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The selected candidate will be required to become basic user of French at level A1/A2 before the end of the probation period.
    The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

Useful information

  • If an external candidate is selected, he/she will be offered an appointment for an undetermined period. Before being established in the post, the external candidate will be required to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months.
  • The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
  • In case of reserve list: Suitable candidates, however not selected to fill the post, will be placed on a reserve list for similar functions. The period of validity of reserve list is 1 year from the closing date of applications.
