We are dedicated to promoting transition with excellence, innovation, and responsible banking practices. We’re recruiting in our Operational Risk Management team and are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to ensure effective risk management in line with industry trends.

Purpose of the Role:

As an Operational Risk Manager, you will play a key role in embedding, maintaining, and enhancing our operational risk management framework. This framework is the backbone of monitoring and managing the operational risks of EBRD, encompassing governance, day-to-day management practices, and management of incident and risk data. You will act as the second line of defense, providing independent oversight, challenging business area management of risks, and ensuring effective controls and remediation plans are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various business units to ensure the accurate identification, management, mitigation, reporting, and escalation of operational risks.
  • Develop and execute operational risk plans across selected departments, ensuring effective oversight and challenge, whilst fostering a robust risk culture.
  • Represent Operational Risk Management at internal committees and working groups to wield influence based on expert risk management knowledge.
  • Analyze incidents, issues, and key control metrics,driving required actions to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of significant issues and incidents.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide effective training to address them.
  • Development of operational risk guidelines and procedural documents.
  • Active in the development of Operational Risk systems, reporting and related OR framework strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Accountancy, Risk Management, CFA, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in operational risk within financial services.
  • Proven track record in developing and deploying operational risk management frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with Risk Appetite and Scenario Analysis activities.
  • Knowledge of banking products and experience with development banks is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in planning and organization.
