In addition to its investment work, IFC provides advisory services to support its clients in meeting their development goals.
IFC is looking for a highly motivated Operations Analyst to be based in Amman, Jordan to provide support to the Regional Management team in the day-to-day operations of the region and program management. The Operations Analyst will work closely with the Regional Director/ Regional Head of Operations. Key responsibilities entail regional and country market analysis, data mining and analysis, briefings for internal and external clients, consolidation, and presentation of information for IFC management.
The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of taking initiative to cover a range of tasks, able to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team/environment and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support the Regional Director and Regional Head of Operations in the management of regional program delivery for Middle East, Pakistan, and Afghanistan
• Provide analysis and research support across the region, sectors, and clients, in close collaboration with the Country Advisory and Economics unit.
• Prepare relevant strategy briefs, working papers, presentations, and material for internal and external clients, in close collaboration with the Country
Advisory and Economics unit.
• Prepare analysis of business performance and monitor/update the pipeline of current and upcoming projects to update the management as needed
• Contribute to preparations for IFC key events and partner meetings, such as the Spring and Annual WBG meetings.
• Assist in organizing webinars, roundtables, conferences.
• Support meetings with companies, high-level government counterparts, DFIs and other stakeholders, and follow-ups by preparing briefing material; writing meeting notes; drafting correspondence and assisting in the implementation of action points
• Contribute to and share knowledge on major new corporate initiatives relevant for the region
• Support department wide initiatives to improve systems and project delivery.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and diligence in the quality of one’s own work,
• Possess excellent written communication skills including presentations, briefs, memos, etc. Utilize graphics and tables to effectively and creatively present data,
• Demonstrate active listening skills by being attentive and listening to others in order to identify client and stakeholder needs,
• Demonstrate diplomacy and responsiveness in interactions with others,
• Write in a logical and comprehensive, yet concise manner,
• Distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations,
• Team player with good problem solving and analytical skills, with an ability to execute tasks timely and effectively,
• Organizational and communications skills,
• Advanced user level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word is a must,
• Strong command over English (written and verbal) is a must. Proficiency in other languages spoken in the region is a plus.
