IFC is seeking an Operations Analyst for the South Asia Department, based in Mumbai, India.
The Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting the India Country Management Unit. This role will be responsible for external liaison, protocol, and operational work, in addition to providing analytical support. He/ she will also be required to coordinate efforts across the Country Management Unit, Investment, Partnerships, Financial Controller and the Strategy units.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Liaise and interact effectively with an extensive network of contacts, at senior levels (both internal and external), and respond effectively to inquiries and to diverse situations that require tact and pragmatic problem-solving skills. Must have good network of contacts, both with government stakeholders and business community at large.
• Under guidance of Country Manager, coordinate relationship management with Government agencies, regulators, industry associations and civil society organizations.
• Organize high level travel, programs, meetings and events to achieve client engagement and to maximize IFC’s development objectives and communications messages.
• Oversight on protocol, office administration, staff relocation and hosting clients and internal staff visits to achieve internal service quality standards for IFC staff.
• Gather and summarize project/sector/country benchmarking information to be used to capture lessons learned, with accountability for factual accuracy. Track new, sector regulation, and market trends, in coordination with Legal and Country Economics Departments. Prepare presentations, reports and briefs to present information and analysis to a variety of audiences.
• Extract data from internal and external databases and reports, manipulate and present the data in a variety of formats for a variety of audiences to a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Attend meetings, workshops and external events and provide summaries and disseminate relevant information to departments.
• Support the Country Manager with planning and monitoring of deliverables against country and sector strategies and KPIs.
• Regular reporting and monitoring of portfolio and projects for regulatory and internal reporting.
• Creatively use communications tools, events, and staff engagement to internally disseminate corporate information and encourage teamwork. Disseminate relevant information on IFC India accomplishments, operations, staff services, training and other corporate initiatives.
• Analyst must maintain high degree of discretion and professionalism.
• Provide any other assistance needed by the Country Manager for the day-to-day coordination of activities and special initiatives.
Selection Criteria
• Undergraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Business or similar, Masters’ Degree is preferred.
• Three years’ work experience in corporate sector, industry associations, or consulting or another fast-paced work environment.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills.
• Excellent writing and oral business communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Experience in public affairs, protocol and organization of senior level meetings and events.
• Excellent teamwork skills, ability to take initiative and work across organizational boundaries. High on energy with strong professionalism/ maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when required.
• Experience with government and regulatory agencies, especially with respect to financial sector or private sector policy.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while working on multiple projects.
• Familiarity with using databases (such as management information systems) would be an advantage.
• Experience of strategy and budgeting processes would be an advantage.
