Introduction
The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people.
Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 216 projects in 129 countries and has committed USD 12.0 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Position Objective
Under the direction of the Deputy CFO, the Operations Analyst provides relevant information and reports on aspects of operations under the Deputy CFO and Head of Financial Analysis and Innovation (FAI). S/he also monitors the progress of administrative and operational tasks related to ongoing initiatives (described below) and regularly occurring activities in the Office of Institutional Finance (OIF) and FAI., as well as facilitate records management and resource requirements for OIF and FAI.
Purpose
- Monitor and report on the operating environment, work plans and activities across OIF and FAI.
- Provide technical support to the OIF and FAI on operational matters.
- Execute general administrative duties for OIF and FAI related to internal processes such as, but not limited to, scheduling, travel, and meeting arrangements.
- Ensure continuous information and workflow; support documentation review ahead of sign-off authority.
- Plan, arrange and support logistical requirements on presentations for Senior Management, Board Budget Committee, and other internal and external events and meetings.
- Keep and report minutes for the Board Budget Committee and other meetings as needed.
- Establish an effective system of collecting and tracking information and actions at regular intervals for inclusion in regular reports.
- Contribute to ad-hoc and special projects as needed.
- Provide quality administrative support as needed and coordinate timely requisition of resources.
- Modify and maintain documents such as the Finance Manual and Operations Manual as they pertain to OIF and FAI
- Support the Operational Control team in execution of their responsibilities.
Engagement
- Build relationships across the Secretariat to enable smooth coordination of joint activities, data, and information.
- Act as focal point for correspondence management, providing quality control over communications produced for internal and external release.
- Support coordination between Budget Committee and Secretariat as needed.
Delivery
- Assist in business process mapping and implementation of operational procedures.
- Support preparation of documents and presentations for the Board, Secretariat-wide meetings, including staff meetings and other committees
- Compile data, documents and information and maintain official records and material in a centrally located and accessible system.
- Support the use of management tools for effective work planning and timeline tracking, and identify further tools that could support work management
Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience to perform the functions of the role, preferably from an international organization setting.
- Proficient in the use of monitoring and management tools
- Highly-organized and detail-oriented, with strong ability to multi-task and deliver quality work on time under pressure
- Ability to keep track of and reconcile multiple data sources with minimum error.
- Experienced in use of Excel advanced functions, other Microsoft office suite products, and project management software (e.g., Asana or similar)
- Highly collaborative, team player and experienced working in multi-cultural organizations and in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable with confidential information and materials
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and experience preparing high quality written briefings, manuals, dashboard reports, and other documents.
