Location: London
Hours: 14 per week (Mondays & Fridays ; part of a job share)
Salary: £29,671 per annum based on 35 hours per week plus Inner London Weighting of £3,344 if applicable
Contract Type: Fixed Term to August 2025

If so, this role as Operations Manager could be for you!
You will be leading the day to day functions within Emergency Response. You will be managing a team of staff and volunteers who make a tangible difference to people’s lives following an emergency.
Your focus will be on supporting people during a crisis; helping them transition to recovery; developing preparedness and resilience amongst individuals and communities to help them cope with crisis should it occur.
You will strive to increase our ability and capacity to respond through an enhanced volunteer base and involvement in emergency planning functions with our partners. You will enhance the reputation and influence of British Red Cross in the field of emergency and crisis response.
No two days are the same in this varied role as Operations Manager but you will be involved in:
Overseeing the delivery of all aspects of the emergency response services.
Preparing and executing operational plans focusing on how we will respond on localised crises.
Supporting the management and strategic direction within the area and being a key part of driving growth.
Monitoring performance data for continuous improvement and development of services.
To be a successful Operations Manager, you’ll need:
Experience of working in crises and emergencies.
A strong track record in developing and ensuring the implementation of strategic and operational emergency plans.
Practical management experience of operational teams including effective deployment of resources.
Experience of identifying service needs, and exploiting and developing service opportunities.
Experience of working with, and leading volunteers.
A full UK driving licence, held for minimum of two years.
Knowledge of local government, statutory and voluntary sectors.
