ROLE PURPOSE

The Partnerships and Civil Society Strengthening (CSS) Coordinator will ensure that all steps of the partnership process are well implemented and that Plan’s partnership principles are integrated within the organisation’s role. The coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing the partnership strategy for the Country Office, ensuring appropriate identification and assessment of partners, as well as developing & evaluating partnerships, monitoring partnership agreements, supporting programme managers when needed. The coordinator will also advance Plan International’s work in civil society strengthening, across programming and influencing, through technical leadership and facilitating the development of a common understanding of and coherent practices for Civil Society Strengthening for the organization. The role encompasses various types of partners such as youth groups, CBOs, local organisations, INGOs, UN agencies, ministries, the private sector, and others.

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Director of Programmes, the Partnerships and Civil Society Strengthening (CSS) Coordinator will work closely with a variety of functions to ensure that Plan International’s partnership steps, processes and principles are implemented, including Programmes, Influencing, Finance, Grants, Operations and Human resources.
