Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Contractors (IC) services are needed to support the ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) in coordinating partnerships for the Arab SMEs Summit. This role involves fostering partnerships, actively participating in project implementation, and emphasizing collaboration and relationship-building aspects, along with other associated responsibilities as described below.
The IC will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC).
In particular, the Project Coordinator will be tasked to do the following:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing partners, leveraging opportunities for the Arab SMEs Summit. Initiate interactions, and foster open communication channels.
• Collaborate closely with the ETC team to plan and execute the Arab SMEs Summit, ensuring effective coordination among all project stakeholders, especially partners.
• Oversee the gathering of knowledge and training materials needed for ETC’s interactive toolboxes. Coordinate the acquisition process and ensure timely availability, with a focus on meeting partnership-related needs.
• Actively engage in project-related meetings, pay close attention to discussions on relevant topics, and meticulously document key points, particularly those related to partnerships.
• Prepare statistical tables, graphs, and contribute to the development of presentations and substantive background materials essential for ETC project deliverables, with a specific emphasis on materials relevant to partnerships.
• Assist in preparing meeting agendas, informational notes, presentations, and substantive background materials, with a special focus on materials related to partnership coordination.
• Draft routine communications, such as emails, letters, memos, and other messages, specifically designed for effective engagement with relevant stakeholders in the context of partnership activities.
• Skillfully craft responses or draft communications in English for various correspondence and meeting-related communications, maintaining a consistent and professional tone, especially when dealing with partner communications.
• Be ready to take on additional tasks and duties as assigned by the project, adapting flexibly to changing partnership needs and requirements.
The individual contractor will also assist in various administrative services through coordination and support of consultation meetings on the above subject.
Qualifications/special skills
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication Studies, Entrepreneurship Public Relations, International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Event Management, Sociology/Psychology, Public Administration, Hospitality/Tourism Management and/or related field is required.

A minimum of 6 years of experience in partnership coordination or closely related fields such as collaboration management, strategic alliances, business development, or relationship management is required.
Proficiency in expanding and maintaining professional connections and relationships is required.
The capacity to communicate clearly and persuasively, fostering productive interactions is required.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
For this position, fluency in Arabic and English are required.
Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
