Our employment opportunity of the moment: Partnership Officer

The Programs and Partnerships Branch (PPB) is responsible for driving the International Development and Research Centre’s (IDRC) pursuit of increased global impact and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. Comprised of five distinct program divisions:

PPB’s continued development of external partnerships is fundamental to IDRC’s 2030 strategic research for development goals.

You have:

  • A Master’s degree in business or public administration, international development, economics, marketing, or finance. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be considered as an asset.
  • Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Recentexperience in fostering and maintaining client relationships and partnerships within a variety of both research and non-research-based environments.
  • An in-depth understanding of organizational level business growth management strategies.
  • An enhanced knowledge of negotiation, marketing, and advertising tactics, which have been proven to be successful in relation to partnership network expansion.

You are:

  • A professional with a demonstrated track record of building new connections within your respective field.
  • Competent and comfortable in the communication, negotiation and coordination of organizational initiatives and projects.
  • Driven by an ability to increase your organizations wider footprint via business networks including those within both the private and public domain.
  • A collaborator in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable within a multidisciplinary group of people from diverse cultures.
  • Qualified to establish, manage, and monitor relationships with diverse and experienced stakeholders.

You are interested in:

  • Providing strategic advice on organizational relationships, business development and external relationship management.
  • Negotiating international agreements, contracts or memoranda in a fast-pace and innovative research environment.
  • Facilitating business growth through the application and implementation of proven relationship development strategies.
  • Maintaining existing client partnerships of the Centre, to ensure progress of on-going project initiatives.
  • Joining an organization that values and models diversity, inclusion, and equity.

*Hybrid Mode: Have the flexibility to work in hybrid mode (Minimum 3 days out of 10 in the office).

This position requires occasional international travel.
