Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Partnership Officer in Kyiv.
About the job
DRC’s Partnership Officer, under the guidance of the Partnership Team Leader, plays a key role in supporting the management of DRC Ukraine’s Partnership Unit. The Officer is instrumental in implementing operational tools and processes and actively contributes to the execution of DRC Ukraine’s partnership strategy. This role involves direct engagement with partner, in partnership activities, supervision tasks, and coordination efforts to ensure effective and efficient partnership operations aligned with organizational goals.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be
Partnerships Management:
- Assist in developing partnership standards and operational procedures in line with DRC global policy.
- Directly involved in the execution of administrative supervision tasks, such as conducting due diligence.
- Supports the implementation and monitoring of supervision tools for DRC partners.
- Contributes to partner performance reviews and supports capacity-building efforts.
- Participates in field missions, providing on-ground support and insights.
- Actively involved in partner mapping, including researching, identifying, and gathering detailed information about potential and existing partners.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings, workshops, and discussions with partners to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
Project Implementation:
- Aid in overseeing the implementation of projects involving DRC partners.
- Assists in monitoring project progress and compliance with set standards.
- Contribute to developing tools for capturing best practices.
- Actively participates in capacity-building initiatives and supports in identifying areas where partners might require additional support or training.
- Identify and assess potential risks in project implementation, contributing to the development and execution of mitigation strategies.
- Acts as the first line of communication with DRC partners, facilitating day-to-day interactions, and addressing immediate concerns or queries.
Accountability and reporting:
- Assists in the preparation and compilation of reports.
- Ensures data accuracy and adherence to reporting guidelines and requirements.
- Regularly updates and maintains tracking tools with current data and information.
Coordination:
- Support coordination between DRC’s partners and internal program/support service units.
- Assist in external coordination with relevant stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to minimum 2 years of relevant experience in NGO projects and in implementing programs in the humanitarian and development context aimed at capacity building of CSOs. Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, social sciences, finance, international development, administration, languages, translation, or any other relevant field.
- Strong skills in using Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Microsoft’s online tools (particularly Outlook, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint).
- Writing and editing skills for reports, proposals, and documentation for various audiences, including partner organizations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Efficient time and priority management with attention to deadlines.
- Proficiency in English – written and oral.
