Position Title: Partnerships Manager [New Business Development role] Location: Remote, part time – up to 20 hours a week in 2024 Department: Winrock Solutions

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to oversee research, analysis, and partnership development opportunities between Winrock’s select program teams and relevant funders, partners, and other potential collaborators. The Partnerships Manager will work with the Executive Director of Winrock Solutions, one of Winrock’s subsidiaries, and interface with a variety of Winrock’s technical and corporate units with the primary goal of finding and securing new sources of funding and other resources, which may include new partners, investors, or program collaborators. Position Overview: The Partnerships Manager will engage across program portfolios to understand program priorities, synthesize data into succinct pitches, decks, and promotional materials, and work with Winrock program and technical leaders to develop new resource development strategies, promote Winrock’s work at different events, conferences, and other relevant convenings, and to support the positioning and development of new initiatives. The Partnerships Manager’s focus will be primarily on supporting the growth and development of the following programming areas: Domestically (United States) Food systems development and regenerative agriculture Community development Entrepreneurial ecosystems Racial equity Combatting of forced labor and trafficking Domestically and Internationally Climate mitigation and adaptation Net Zero

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Responsibilities Research and analysis of funding landscape and ecosystems, as relevant to Winrock’s primary technical areas. Synthesis and presentation of relevant data to relevant audiences, both internal and external. Connecting priority program units with relevant funding and other partnership opportunities- this can comprise of developing donor intel, securing introductions, mapping funding opportunities, and advising program leads on strategy to attract/connect with new funding Synthesizing program priorities and needs into succinct funder-facing materials Connecting the dots between internal expertise and external opportunities Developing appropriate tracking systems and mechanisms for funding opportunities, in collaboration with other NBD leads, using existing systems and platforms In partnership with WS ED and individual unit New Business Managers, support other units in due diligence and preparation for funder calls and meetings- understanding of funder strategies and priorities, funding levels, etc Supporting the maintenance and organization of cross unit technical expertise and qualifications, in order to quickly respond to funding and other opportunities Staying on top of funding ecosystems and new funder developments Managing collaborative NBD and partnership opportunities Development and/or editing support of funding proposals or grant submissions, as needed, either as a lead or supporting other proposal leads

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelors degree required, MA, MPA, or MBA strongly preferred.

Experience: Significant understanding of and experience in the funding ecosystem and deep understanding of philanthropy, impact investing, impact accelerators, impact funds is required. Previous work working with and supporting entrepreneurs is required, experience with those from marginalized communities strongly preferred Experience in developing development materials, pitch decks, promotional materials, and funder engagement required. Securing of large gifts or grants strongly preferred. Deep understanding of US-based networks, funder collaboratives, and impact investing platforms and convenings. Experience in managing grants and nonprofit operations is required; Experience developing partnerships across organizations and networks. Domestic and international experience in philanthropy and funding ecosystems strongly preferred. Computer/Technical

Skills: Highly literate computer skills, demonstrated experience with budget management, strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft suite required. Communication Skills: Fluent in English, fluency in Spanish strongly preferred, excellent writer and communicator Required Travel: Minimal. Occasional US-based conference travel may be needed but this is flexible. Position-Specific Skills: Deep philanthropic and impact investment sector knowledge Knowledge and experience working with the above technical areas strongly desired Excellent researcher, Highly analytical, Systems and process oriented, Highly organized- strong attention to detail, Physical Demands: Must have access to reliable internet access The salary range for this role is set between $40 and $55 per hour, with the majority of candidates typically land within the midpoint of this range.
