We are currently recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy & Communications team.

 

This is a remote position, based in the US, East Coast or Bay Area preferred.

 

Salary is circa $100,000 per annum plus benefits.

About the Opportunity.

 

The Philanthropy Manager will play a critical role in generating primarily unrestricted support from a portfolio of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs). This primary audience includes major donors, family foundations, and planned giving.

 

Your responsibilities will be

  • Work closely with the Philanthropy Director and Chief Development and Marketing Officer to evolve and implement fundraising strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, steward and upgrade mid-to-major donors
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects, as well as identify and cultivate new potential major donors from internal and external sources
  • Build and nurture strong relationships to retain and upgrade donors through personalized communications, strategic meetings and phone calls, events, and updates
  • Prepare compelling fundraising materials within RI brand guidelines, including donor correspondence, presentations, solicitation proposals
  • Support the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees’ engagement in fundraising through strategy counsel and the creation of donor briefs, talking points, and other meeting support materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure grant compliance and reporting, and align fundraising efforts with overall organizational strategies and objectives
  • Maintain data integrity in RI’s CRM software (Salesforce) by tracking pipeline, moves, and donor interactions
  • Represent RI at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities

About You.

You will bring the following experience and skills.

  • Team player, able to work across team functions for strong results.
  • Substantial progressive fundraising experience, including a proven track record of soliciting major gifts from HNWIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mind-set and proficiency in using fundraising software, databases, and analytics tools (strong preference for proficiency with Salesforce).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into effective fundraising strategies.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for the organization’s mission and a deep commitment to driving positive change through fundraising efforts.
