The expected deliverables for this role – spread out as support over the period 24 March 2025 to 31 December 2025. For each assignment, working day, the contractor is expected to deliver at least 15 selected portrait format photos, in high resolution images. o Capture high resolution images to be used in the Programme promotional materials. o Capture high resolution images of the beneficiaries of the UN Joint Programmes. o Edit high resolution images. o Provide at least 15 selected and edited images from each assignment.
Work Location
Tirana and a maximum of 20 days outside of Tirana.

Duties and Responsibilities
As a family of 19 resident and non-resident agencies, the United Nations in Albania works closely with the Government and other partners including civil society, development partners, academia and the private sector to strengthen the rule of law, promote human rights and fundamental freedoms, protect the environment, support economic and social reforms and gender equality. In harmonizing these actions, the UN in Albania takes its inspiration from the United Nations Charter, the overarching instrument of the UN, as well as more recent agreements reached by world leaders, such as the Sustainable Development Goals that address many of the complex challenges the world faces. Through a coherent country programme, called the Government of Albania-UN Programme of Cooperation for Sustainable Development (PoCSD) 2022-2026, the UN fully supports and works towards the complementary agendas of: Albania’s Goal of European Union integration and Agenda2030. Through the course of PoCSD the United Nations in Albania runs activities which require the services of photographer to be used for promotional material to be prepared and distributed in various social medial platforms and the UN website, or the partner websites. During 2025, the UNRCO team plans to create promotional material to showcase the results for the implementation of POCSD and other UN Agencies Joint Programmes, including stories of their beneficiaries. A national consultant will be engaged during the period of March – December 2025, to assist the UNRCO Programme with the following: o Document through photography activities of the hiring UN agency. Activities may include events field visits, campaigns. o Ensure the high quality of the photo/video materials suitable for printing, publishing and web / design purposes. o Ensure dignity of subjects, particularly in the context of children and vulnerable groups. UN applicable guidelines and policies will be provided upon contract signature. o Ensure effective and efficient provision of services, full confidentiality in all aspects of the assignment, management of information flow and follow-up on deadlines and commitments made o Abide with the UN in Albania copyright rules and regulations. Refrain from providing any photo/video materials taking under the UN Agency assignment to any media outlet, publishing agency, organization or personality.
Qualifications/special skills
Work experience – Five years of progressive experience as a photographer is required. – Experience taking photographs for development related agencies and projects is required. – Strong inter-personal, teamwork and organizational skills are required. – Excellent proven photograph and digital skills are required. Education – Bachelor’s degree in photography, Arts or closely related field of studies is required.
Languages
English and French are the two working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English and Albanian are required for this post.
Additional Information
30 working days in Tirana including a maximum of 20 days outside of Tirana, during the period of 24 March 2025 to 31 December 2025. No additional costs outside of the scope will be covered.
