We are currently accepting applications for Relief International’s Surge Roster for short-term assignments (varying from weeks to months) to manage periods of emergency and transition within Relief International. Position Summary. The physical rehabilitation officer will support the RI Health Team and partners in Turkey based programs. The officer will be responsible for the provision of technical oversight in respect to the quality of services provided by RI’s supported facility for the physical rehabilitation and prosthetics center in Turkey. The Physical rehabilitation officer will provide technical assistance to RI’s partners, as well as coordinating activities at the targeted facility with an aim of improving the quality of services. S/He will ensure that procedures and protocols are duly followed at the targeted facility at all times. Key Responsibilities and Duties. · To carry out regular technical and quality analysis for P&O and physical therapy components. · To ensure the technical quality of the rehabilitation services delivered to the project beneficiaries. · To maintain a comprehensive rehabilitation approach, ensuring proper team work between P&O technicians and physiotherapists. · To assess the Physical rehab team’s difficulties and needs for safe and effective implementation of care, identify specific training needs and then share them with the Rehab Coordinator. · To deliver trainings to partners’ rehabilitation staff on tools and guidelines that are useful for the project implementation. · To ensure proper application of the beneficiary rehab pathway that is designed by RI’ technical team. · To ensure proper and quality technical assessment and documentation that comply with RI’s rehabilitation guidelines. · To contribute towards technical data collection for the purposes of the post rehabilitation monitoring to ensure quality services in RI’s center. · To contribute toward identifying and coordinating beneficiaries for technical review that will be conducted by the Rehab Coordinator and/or P&O consultant. · To follow up closely and provide direct supervision on the program activities and ensure that they are aligned with the RI’s technical framework and tools including identification, assessment, treatment, prescription and delivery of the prosthetic and orthotic devices, discharge process and follow up visits. · To perform case management and weekly meetings with the partner’s staff and share the outcomes with to the Rehab Coordinator. · To participate actively in any comprehensive need’s assessment and stakeholders mapping across all relevant areas in Turkey. · To coordinate the necessary formal and on-the-job training as requested. · To ensure the translation of physical rehabilitation tools and guidelines upon request. · To write monthly updates on PT and P&O services and shared them with the Rehab Coordinator. · To prepare and update a monthly action plan with clear objectives. · To participate actively in Health unit meetings. · To respect the confidentiality of all information and data. · All other duties and tasks as assigned by the line manager. Other related tasks that may arise from time to time. · Uphold and promote RI’s commitment to ensuring the safeguarding and safety of the vulnerable communities we serve. · Consistent with RI’s safeguarding and protection policies, contribute to ensuring that all those who come into contact with Relief International staff and the communities we serve can be trusted to work safely with them · Support and develop systems that create and maintain an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and abuse and promotes the implementation of the Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies. · Work collaboratively with the Global Safeguarding Manager to advocate for the inclusion of safeguarding activities and resources within program · Ability to demonstrate knowledge of donor requirements of safeguarding standards and protection from exploitation and abuse. Role requirements. Experience and skills required for the role. · Formal education or professional training in prosthetics and physiotherapy and/or experience in a related medical discipline. · Experience working with NGOs in humanitarian or development contexts would be preferred · Excellent written and spoken Turkish. Arabic language is a bonus. · Must have the ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and at times remotely RI Values.
