Job Summary
The Integrations Platform Owner has a pivotal role within our IT organization, dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation, governance, and strategic development of our integration platforms, specifically Azure-based Integration Services/Platforms. This individual will spearhead efforts to optimize platform functionality while implementing a robust governance model that encompasses system security, scalability, and resiliency. A key liaison between product owners, IT teams, and stakeholders, the role demands a collaborative approach to ensure compliance with IT strategies and security standards across the service lifecycle. The Integrations Platform Owner will provide technical leadership, overseeing the creation of foundational assets, managing the API lifecycle, and steering integration solutions including major enhancements and interoperability.
Additionally, the role involves guiding teams through the development and deployment of solution prototypes, fostering business innovation, and navigating technology trends. The successful candidate will bring a strong aptitude for iterative, functionality-driven software development, preferably with Agile principles, and will be instrumental in maintaining platform security and technical standards. This role is crucial for anyone passionate about driving operational excellence and innovation in IT integrations, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of our IT infrastructure and services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Platform Operations and Governance
a. Spearhead efforts to ensure optimal platform operations.
b. Develop and oversee a comprehensive governance model, including complex system interactions, security, scalability, resiliency, and oversight of run-time and development deployments.
2. Compliance, Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
a. Collaborate closely with product/process owners, managers, IT teams, architects, and other key stakeholders.
b. Ensure all services comply with the organization’s IT strategy, security policies, and standards throughout their lifecycle.
c. Work with Product and Platform owners to facilitate work prioritization in alignment with IT and business demands.
d. Assist the business in setting integration expectations, defining vision, operations, and critical success factors.
e. Aid in business innovation and strategic roadmap development based on organizational performance, resource allocations, platform configuration, industry trends, challenges, and business strategies.
3. Technical Leadership and Solution Development
a. Provide technical guidance across various platform areas, evaluating the cost, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions.
b. Collaborate with Integration Architect and Project Manager(s) in supervising the development and implementation of solution prototypes or proof of concepts for new tech products and services.
c. Support Integration Architect in providing thought leadership in designing, implementing, and deploying integration solutions.
d. Offer technical expertise, identifying and defining new technologies for business units and recommending alternatives where appropriate.
e. Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle for automated integrations – from requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing to production deployment.
4. Asset Management and API Lifecycle
a. Support the creation of foundational assets, including an API roadmap, reusable assets, best practices, and onboarding guides.
b. Oversee the management of the API lifecycle, enforcing usage policies, controlling access, and monitoring usage and performance.
c. Manage integration solutions, including major enhancements, interfaces, functions, and features, ensuring interoperability.
5. Data Integration and Technology Exploration
a. Supervise the creation and maintenance of data integration and connector pipelines, monitor data integration/orchestration flows, and maintain APIs for sharing datasets.
b. Collaborate with industry vendors, consultants, and partners to understand integration technology trends and new technology developments.
c. Apply an aptitude for iterative, functionality-driven software development, preferably adhering to Agile software principles.
6. Team and Vendor Management
a. Manage operations teams comprising staff, vendors, and MSP personnel, ensuring key service delivery.
b. Work closely with the vendor management office to ensure service delivery meets agreed performance standards.
c. Collaborate and provide guidance to the Integration Architect, system engineer, and other team members in developing project plans and creating high-quality deliverables.
7. Security and Technical Standards Maintenance
a. Ensure platform security standards are maintained and implement programs to avoid technical obsolescence.
b. Oversee and approve the integration of third-party and internally developed components to achieve interoperability.
Minimum Qualifications
This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.
