Organizational Setting
Under the overall supervision of the Chief Economist and the direct supervision of the Senior Advisor responsible for the coordination of the Hand-in-Hand (HIH) Investment Forum the consultant will provide support to the day-to-day planning, preparation, production and evaluation of the HIH Investment Forum 2025, and to the wider World Food Forum 2025.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Chief Economist, and the day-to-day supervision of the Senior Advisor responsible for the coordination of the HIH Investment Forum based in the office of the Chief Economist.
Technical Focus
Provide overall technical and coordination support for the HIH Investment Forum and World Food Forum 2025 and other key priorities of the Strategic Framework related to the stream of the Chief Economist and issues related to food security, nutrition and agrifood systems transformation.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Support the strategic planning, preparations and delivery of the HIH Investment Forum 2025 including, but not limited to:
– Support the strategic development of the 2025 Investment Forum agenda;
– Provide support to the planning, preparation and production of the official opening session; country and regional initiative presentations; and thematic sessions;
– Prepare concept notes, background documents and speaking points as needed;
– Coordinate the issuing of invitations and follow-up and liaise with speakers;
– Organize and coordinate speaker briefings.
• Support the day-to-day engagement with the World Food Forum Management Team, including responding to requests, trouble shooting issues, and supporting the delivery of all related events in the lead-up to World Food Forum 2025.
• Prepare the Lessons Learned report post-Forum, including liaising with relevant Divisions and teams; collating, analysing and synthesising relevant information and data; preparation of the report document; and supporting the dissemination of outcomes and recommendations to relevant management and other target audiences.
• Complete additional tasks as necessary for the successful delivery of the HIH Investment Forum and the WFF 2025.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in development, international relations, economics, or a related field
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in development, international relations or economics
• Full proficiency in English is required

Selection Criteria
• Working knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable.
• Experience of event management will be an advantage.
