Girl Up was founded by the United Nations Foundation in 2010. Girl Up is seeking a Post Graduate Intern to support its Global Operations team. The Post Graduate Intern, Global Operations will learn about and provide support for Girl Up’s headquarters operations, scholarships/awards, and team coordination/planning efforts. The Global Operations Post Graduate Intern will report to the Finance Manager, Global Operations, Girl Up.

*Please note this is a paid internship opportunity from May 30, 2023 – September 1, 2023*

Essential Functions

  • Support Girl Up’s Global Operations team with task organization and project management;
  • Support Girl Up Awards for youth participants, including assisting with DocuSign preparation, weekly emailing to awardees, and data entry and tracking for award disbursements/applications;
  • Support Girl Up Awards reporting efforts including assisting with collection of stories and reports;
  • Support Girl Up LOI creation and collection and organization creation/due diligence;
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and support with notetaking and follow up as needed;
  • Support team onboarding efforts and the planning of teamwide bonding activities;
  • Conduct research projects for the Global Operations team as needed;
  • Help with logistical and administrative tasks as needed.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • An interest in and commitment to youth leadership and gender equality.
  • Acute eye for detail and superb organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service experience – via written, phone and in-person communication.
  • Experience in managing long-term projects as well as demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and competing tasks.
  • Experience supporting multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; experience in Salesforce and/or Asana a plus.
  • Dependability, openness and flexibility.
  • Self-starter with strong entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Commitment to cross-cultural learning and understanding.
  • Ability to work 29 hours per week for up to a 6-month term.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance / tardiness policy.
