Purpose of Job

The Principal will work directly for the Director to support the finance transformation operating model (FTOM) work stream for Financial Planning & Analysis. They are responsible for leading analysis, documentation and managing the implementation of process improvements as part of the operating model, organisational design and implementation, including managing the transition of activities between individuals and teams, and providing information to support the choice of the Enterprise Resourcing Platform (ERP) as part of Finance workstream.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across the Bank and externally in order to drive change and help to achieve the successful implementation of finance transformation
  • Act as a focal point in resolving queries, issues and ambiguity during all phases of the finance transformation
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments and allocate tasks and activities within and between teams as required
  • Support the planning and implementation of short to medium term improvements in the FP&A function, coordinating with various stakeholder to ensure successful implementation
  • Review existing FP&A processes to simplify, eliminate, combine and automate in collaboration with CTO
  • Develop and deliver project communications in collaboration with Communication Lead
  • Drive innovation initiatives across the Finance along with championing new ways of working such as analysis practices and methods using Agile.
  • Develop rusted relationships to enable and influence change across the Bank.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and relevant clients at all levels of the organisation to ensure appropriate solutions are proposed and agreed by all parties.
  • Act as liaison between finance and technical capability teams.

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge

Knowledge, experience & qualifications

  • Relevant degree, or equivalent experience of working within financial services, corporate/investment banking or relevant function at a Group level
  • Programme/project management and change management experience; respective qualifications (e.g. Prince 2, Lean/six sigma, SCRUM certification etc.) or through on the job learning a plus
  • Proven experience in one of the levers of transformation (customer experience, organisation, data, processes, technology); Experience articulating Target Operating Models and/or other design experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of industry best practices and external trends in organisational development, change management and organisational and/or product innovation
  • Domain expertise in finance; capable of providing advice and consultancy services drawing on in-depth professional expertise and experience
  • Experience working in project teams, including having matrix responsibilities for specialist consultants and/or internal staff on a functional basis

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent data analytics skills; proficiency in MS Excel and/or reporting/analytics software e.g. Tableau, Cognos , Power BI desirable
  • Strong oral and written presentation and facilitation skills, fluency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of agile methods and principles
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to influence and work well with others, with the ability to effectively harness the cooperation of peers across departments
  • Team player, able to work with and manage through others
  • Excellent active listening skills and interpersonal and communication skills in English to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels in the Bank
