Location of Position: Washington, DC
Telework/Remote Eligibility: Telework up to four days per pay period (two days per week). The position is not remote eligible.

Appointment Type: This is an excepted service, time-limited appointment that is not to exceed five years with the potential for two two-year extensions.
Salary: (USD) $132,860 – $191,900 per year

Description of Organization: IPI integrates technical expertise with values-driven, cross-cutting priorities, and modern approaches to the way USAID performs its work. It provides client-centered technical services to USAID’s Missions worldwide; supports programming to innovate, learn, and address emerging issues; and provides technical leadership within the Agency and externally to enhance development impact.

The PSE Hub supports the Agency in advancing the use of market-based approaches and PSE to deliver development and humanitarian results across all sectors. The PSE Hub spearheads USAID’s efforts to foster a major cultural and operational transformation in the way we conceive, design, and deliver our assistance in partnership with the private sector. The PSE Hub helps to create the internal and external conditions for impactful, evidence-informed engagement with the private sector at scale. The PSE Hub is structured around four strategic goals: make PSE easier for staff, improve the partner experience, improve the use of evidence, and expand USAID’s toolkit for PSE. In addition, there are work streams for Program, Operations, and Communications to support the PSE Hub’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance;
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial energy and strong communication skills;
  • Model inclusive relationship building skills, ability to discern needs and motivations of stakeholders, and skill in designing ways forward to bring stakeholders together;
  • Proven experience influencing across organizational lines to gain buy-in and implement change;
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback to teammates and clients; and
  • To qualify for the position of Private Enterprise Officer FL-1101-02, you must possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to:
    • Partnership development and/or strategic engagement experience with the private sector (multinational corporations and/or global industries that include supply chains, distribution networks, or other operations in emerging markets);
    • Experience working in the private sector and creating or deploying strategies to achieve commercial objectives while improving international development outcomes;
    • Strong network of connections across business and industry in the United States and emerging markets; and
    • Applying customer experience frameworks and principles to design and implement solutions to address the underlying needs of internal and/or external clients.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Working knowledge of USAID processes, systems, and culture.
