The Vanuatu Community-based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP) is the largest community-based adaptation project ever delivered in the Pacific. Principally funded under the Green Climate Fund (GCF), with co-financing from the Vanuatu Government, DFAT and Save the Children, it has been designed to reduce the climate-related vulnerabilities of communities across all six provinces of Vanuatu. It will increase communities’ resilience to climate variability, extremes and change to ensure a good quality of life in the face of continuing climate change.
The VCCRP is a partnership between the Vanuatu Government through the Ministry of Climate Change and Save the Children working alongside the Depts of Local Authorities, Agriculture & Rural Development, Fisheries, Climate Change, Water Resources, National Disaster Management Office and some GEDSI support from the Dept of Women’s Affairs.
