Job Summary:

The Program Assistant will directly work with and report to the Technical Component Lead on Civic engagement under Ma3an..

Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the Technical Component Lead to implement the activities to expand access to youth civic engagement skills and opportunities
  • Supporting the Technical Component Lead in the monitoring and follow up with the 100 civics clubs to implement the Youth Community Service (YCS) program.
  • Supporting the Technical Component Lead and the team (Program technical officer) to implement activities in partnership with the MoE to revise and introduce an updated Civic Education Curriculum in Preparatory and Secondary Schools
  • Support the reporting on success stories and provide highlights of the YCS activities.
  • Attending coordination meeting including with the different project components and provide support on how to continually adapt the activities to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
  • Drafting reports, meeting, translate documents, meeting minutes and other reporting documents as needed.
  • Supporting the Technical Component Lead and Ma3an team in organizing regional / national workshops to revise the Civic Education curriculum and YCS activities.
  • Support the Technical Component Lead to Coordinate with the MEL Knowledge Management team and support the facilitation of discussions on impacts on Ma3an activities.
  • Collaborate with the Communication team to properly communicate on relevant results /success stories of the YCS activities and achievements on the Ma3an social media.
  • Ensure that activities are infused with principles of Do No Harm / conflict sensitivity.

Minimum qualifications and technical requirements:

  • Master degree or its international equivalent in Communication, literature, Business Administration, Finance, International Development, Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of one-year relevant professional experience on international development programs and/or work in the civil society sector of Tunisia and/or other countries
  • Experience working in relevant programs in the Tunisian context, such as youth development and/or community engagement/Civic engagement.
  • Ability to work effectively with local partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with international development donors’, particularly USAID, programs, rules, and regulations preferred.
  • Ability to translate documents from Arabic to English
  • Fluency in English, French and/or Arabic.
