POSITION TITLE: Program Associate, Business Development

LOCATION: VA Office, AR Office, U.S. Hybrid, or U.S. Remote

DEPARTMENT: Agriculture, Resilience, and Water REPORTS TO: Senior New Business Manager, ARW

POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Program Associate (BD PA) will provide administrative, communications, and knowledge management support related to business development. The BD PA will be a member of Winrock’s ARW team, supporting new business efforts under the direction of the Senior New Business Manager. The BD PA role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative work environment and is ready to gain hands-on experience in international development.

Major Responsibilities: Provide logistical and administrative support to ARW-led capture, proposal, and start-up teams (e.g., obtaining bid and proposal cost center, scheduling meetings, taking notes, compiling staff and partner inputs, formatting proposal documents, facilitating internal approval processes for proposals and new awards, and archiving proposal documents.) Liaise with ARW team leaders to document and facilitate business case approval. Coordinate outreach to ARW capture and proposal consultants and administer agreements/invoices in a timely manner. Create and regularly update ARW records in the opportunity tracking database, ensuring all records are complete, accurate, and up to date. Support ARW’s internal monitoring and documentation of business development activities and administrative/operational/financial tasks (e.g., bid and proposal spending, level of effort allocations, pipeline updates). Maintain ARW’s current past performance and organizational capacity resources, ensuring content is of high quality, accurate, up-to-date, and complete. Conduct desk research including intelligence gathering on funding opportunities, competitor analyses, client forecasts and priorities, sector trends, and geography-specific data. Contribute to development of communications and outreach materials (e.g., project success stories and participant testimonies, fact sheets, blog posts.) The responsibilities of this role are subject to modifications as required by the needs of the organization.

Qualifications and Background: Bachelor’s degree in related fields including International Development, Economics, Agricultural Sciences, or Public Policy. Minimum two years of demonstrated work experience in international development. Strong writing, verbal, intercultural, and interpersonal communications skills. Experience in research and data analysis. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to coordinate a variety of tasks, balance competing demands, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure. Willingness to learn and commitment to pursuing a career in international development. Proficiency in MS Office. English fluency required; fluency in a second language a plus. Working Environment: Standard U.S.-based office work environment. Sponsorship is not available for this position, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The salary range for this position is $50,000 with an additional 10% contribution to your 403b and a strong benefits package.
