Position Title: Temporary Associate, Program – ECO (Renewable Energy-GHG accounting) End Date: December 31, 2024 Location: VA Office, US Remote, or US Hybrid Unit: Ecosystem Services

 

POSITION SUMMARY Position Purpose: The Temporary Program Associate will assist in evaluating proposed GHG emissions mitigation projects within our client’s supply chain. These activities aim to facilitate the development of a pipeline of projects that are both technically sound and present a strong business case for the client’s investment. Position Overview: The Temporary Program Associate will support the Sr. Program Associate in client management through programmatic and administrative duties and provide technical support in the GHG measurement, monitoring and risk analysis of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and switch to low carbon energy projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Responsibilities Manage the analysis of renewable energy projects, ensuring timely production of high-quality deliverables. Perform calculations using greenhouse gas and activity data on renewable energy, energy efficiency and switch to low-carbon energy projects. Inform internal guidance and support critical thinking on the analyses and analytical methods related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and switch to low-carbon energy projects. Manage relevant databases and project trackers, support monitoring and evaluation processes, and link project data with required client reporting. Assist in organizing meetings, record meeting minutes, and ensure follow-up of next steps. Provide general program support and other tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy or environment-related field required. Graduate level degree in environmental science, environmental policy, or a related discipline preferred. Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience in renewable energy or sustainability industry and program coordination, administration, or logistical support required. Demonstrated interest in programs related to clean energy and climate change mitigation via previous work/volunteer experience and/or academic coursework/research. Understanding of greenhouse gas accounting principles, methods, and tools desired. Demonstrated international experience preferred. Familiarity working with donor funded programs preferred.

Position-Specific Skills: Comfortable working in a flexible, high-paced environment and able to work well in teams and independently. Ability to contribute to project operations and workflow effectively, to track and meet deadlines for multiple tasks, and work effectively under pressure. Strong time management and organizational abilities for completing detailed administrative, communications, and other assigned tasks. Strong analytical capability and problem-solving abilities required. Able to communicate in a clear, professional, and positive manner with a variety of team members and various stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment with respect for diversity. Excellent writing, verbal, intercultural, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred. Fluent in English, fluency in other language is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

This is a temporary position and ends on December 31, 2024. The pay for this position is $28 per hour. As this is a temporary position, benefits are not part of the package, however the offered hourly rate reflects the absence of traditional benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement contributions.
