Salary: $132,860 – $191,900 per year

Description of Organization: The Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA) is responsible for managing USAID’s overall coordination of legislative and public affairs matters for the Agency. LPA’s Office of Legislative Affairs (LPA/LEG) maintains continuous and close liaison with members of Congress, personal, and committee staff to proactively inform them about USAID programs and policies. This position will support LPA/LEG with its work involving GH. GH supports health programs in partner countries, advances research and innovation in areas relevant to overall Agency health objectives, and transfers new technologies through its own programmatic work, coordination with other donors, and a portfolio of grants.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will serve as the GH Congressional Liaison Officer (CLO). The CLO negotiates USAID legislative issues with members of Congress, committees, and staff. The incumbent coordinates the preparation of testimony for Congressional legislative hearings in consultation with Bureau and Office colleagues as primary points of contact with relevant interagency and Congressional offices.
