I. Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Morocco Country office (CO) works with national partners to promote the leadership and political participation of women and support the adoption of legislations, strategies and policies that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment, and for the translation of Constitutional provisions into organic and ordinary laws.
In addition, the Morocco office supports the development and implementation of gender-sensitive strategies and public policies. It fosters the production and dissemination of accurate sex-disaggregated and gender-based data to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of progress in terms of gender equality, women’s empowerment and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. Another important focus of the Office consists of improving the entrepreneurial capacities of women, with the goal to enhance their sustainable livelihoods and resilience though securing their access to, control over and use of productive resources.
Reporting to Programme Management Specialist, the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Morocco CO by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UN Women programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ personnel, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
II. Key Functions and Accountabilities:
1.Contribute technically to the development of programmestrategies in the area of Violence Against Women
2.Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of the Violence Against Women programme
3.Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners
4. Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project
5.Provide substantive technical inputs to the management of people and finances of the Violence Against Women programme
6.Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
7.Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on Violence Against Women to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country
8.Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: The incumbent will lead a team of 1, including 1 direct report (1 UNV specialist) who will be responsible for providing administrative and financial support to the programme
