JOB TITLE: Programme Assistant – Livelihoods

DURATION: One year
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Perform specialized and standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities that support the effective delivery of livelihoods interventions under the social protection programme of the Egypt Country Office.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Within the social protection and livelihoods programmes, support the design, implementation and monitoring of activities, ensuring alignment with WFP programme strategies and guidance, and coherence with national strategies.
2. Process and manage routine administrative and financial tasks to contribute to the effective and timely operations on ground and management of resources.
3. Perform accurate and timely collection and recording of data to contribute to quality business information management and maintain records and databases to ensure information is organized and readily available for use.
4. Assist in the analysis of data to support operational decision-making and preparation of reports, as well as review reports shared by field staff and partners, and collate information for inclusion in reports, documents, correspondences and information products.
5. Maintain effective working relations with government stakeholders, NGO implementing partners and development agencies to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing activities.
6. Act as a point of contact to respond to complex business support and general operational queries from beneficiaries and partners, requesting assistance where necessary.
7. Track progress toward goals and share information on a regular basis with supervisor, suggesting potential improvements to social protection and livelihoods work processes.
8. Participate in different periodic meetings, field visits and workshops and assist in information sharing with local stakeholders, relevant partners and colleagues.
9. Provide guidance to partners’ staff and to junior colleagues in performing their duties.
10. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor and Head of Unit.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Social Sciences or another field relevant to international development assistance.
Experience: 5 years of Experience in general administrative work and knowledge of development programming in general. Experience in livelihoods or economic empowerment is an asset.
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written Arabic & English.
