Programme Coordinator in the Strategy, Programme and Coordination Office in the Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes.
If selected for this position, you will coordinate the FutureEO programme and will play an integral role in its potential evolution in relation to other ESA Earth Observation programmes. The FutureEO programme is the backbone of R&D in the ESA Earth Observation (EO) domain and accompanies the development of Earth science missions through their entire lifecycle, from early technology-supporting activities up to mission selection, implementation and operations, and finally provides support to the EO user communities so that the resulting data, feedback and lessons learned can be used for future missions.
Because the associated activities are implemented across the four departments within the EO Directorate, the organisational environment of FutureEO requires a coordination function at Directorate level. At the request of the Director of Earth Observation Programmes, this function is provided by the Strategy, Programme and Coordination Office (EOP-C). You will thus report to the Head of EOP-C.
This position also involves extensive cooperation with national space agencies and international organisations and, as such, requires close coordination with Member States and a working relationship with EUMETSAT.
Providing services in respect of FutureEO to the entire Directorate, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Result Orientation
Operational Efficiency
Fostering Cooperation
Relationship Management
Continuous Improvement
Forward Thinking
A master’s degree in engineering or in an Earth observation-related science domain is required.
