Myanmar is one of UNOPS’ leading offices in Asia, acting as fund manager for some of the largest development programmes in the country. In addition, UNOPS is Principal Recipient for the Global Fund in Myanmar and for the Global Fund’s regional artemisinin-resistance initiative targeting drug resistant malaria in the greater Mekong sub-region. UNOPS also provides procurement, infrastructure and project management services to a wide range of organizations in the country, including international development partners and other UN agencies. The Joint Peace Fund (JPF) was established in late 2015 as a multi-donor fund to support national efforts to achieve a final and lasting settlement of ethnic armed conflict in Myanmar. In working towards this goal, the JPF has delivered coordinated international financial and technical assistance to the Myanmar peace process. Donors to the fund, including through Ambassadorial representation, participate in its governance through the JPF Fund Board. Over the past 2 years, the JPF adapted its programming and approach to the challenging post-military take over context. A revised multi-year strategy was finalised and a revised management structure and operating modalities were put in place to start a new multi-year cycle on 1 January 2023.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Office-Advisor, the Programme Management Analyst will undertake the following responsibilities based on task notes issues from time to time.

Impact of Results

The effective and successful achievement of results by the Programme Management Senior Analyst (Grants) directly impact the efficient management of resources entrusted to UNOPS by donors. It enhances the organization’s financial and programme performance, demonstrating UNOPS’ effective stewardship of donor and partner funds. These promote the credibility of the organization as an effective service provider in project services and management.

 

• Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Project Management or related field is required
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in the same above-mentioned subjects with minimum 4 years of experience contracts/grant management and/or project administration and/or finance and/or project support is considered an equivalent
• Completion of PRINCE 2 Foundation certificate is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in contracts/grant management and/or project administration and/or finance and/or project support is required
• Good knowledge of contractual and accounting principles and modalities is required
• Prior experience, particularly in grant management, with UNOPS is an advantage
• Prior experience in preparing and collaborating with in- and external auditors an asset
• Previous successful involvement with, and a good knowledge of the development and humanitarian sector/working with UN, Donors, or NGOs is an advantage
• Proficiency in computers and office software packages (MS Office) and experience in the use of Excel spreadsheets is required
• Experience with Google Workspace (G Suite) is an asset

Contract type: ICA

Contract duration: Not exceeding 200 working days per year (subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance)

Note:
