JOB PURPOSE
The Programme Manager works within the high-functioning Global Marketing and Communications Programme at Amnesty International’s International Secretariat (Headquarters.) The Programme Manager monitors the progress and performance of all the projects delivered by the Marketing and Communications Programme, including managing the inflow of new projects and requests to ensure resources are allocated according to the agreed strategic priorities.
Working closely with the Global Programme Director for Marketing and Communications, the Programme Manager plays an important role in the strategic deliver of human rights outputs for the global Amnesty movement.
ABOUT YOU
You will have proven project portfolio management experience within a large organisation, as well as a passion for human rights. You will have demonstrable ability to design and implement effective systems and methods for tracking progress, opportunities, risks and budgets across a large portfolio of work.
Your creative and highly effective communication skills and experience will enable you to work across multiple stakeholders in different teams, with an agency-style approach and the ability to design formats for sharing business intelligence.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver the evaluation methods to assess project strengths, identify areas for improvement and ensuring objectives and targets are being met.
- Manage the Marketing and Communications portfolio of human rights projects, maintaining oversight and analysis of portfolio status and risk, logging benefits and impact in line with organisational reporting methods, and ensuring project leads are supported in delivering the reports.
- Embed a consistent methodology for project management and reporting across the programme.
- Monitor, analyse, manage and or escalate risks of the Marketing and Communications portfolio of projects and planned work.
- Support quarterly reporting on Marketing and Communications Projects and ensure allocated budgets deliver the agreed objectives.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent facilitation skills;
- Experience in developing training programmes and standard operating procedures guidelines.
- Experience of SharePoint and BI tools, including Power BI, is desirable.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills with a wide range of stakeholders, including ability to negotiate and influence, and build and maintain cooperative relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically; and problem analysis skills.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change in a complex, high-pressure environment.
- Management experience, ability to set, manage and monitor plans and budgets
