Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is a public-private partnership committed to saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries. The Vaccine Alliance brings together implementing country and donor governments, the World Health Organisation, UNICEF, the World Bank, the vaccine industry, technical agencies, civil society, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other private sector partners. Gavi uses innovative finance mechanisms, including co-financing by recipient countries, to secure sustainable funding and adequate supply of quality vaccines. THE ROLE Please note this is a temporary role, until 31st December 2025. The Programme Manager (PM) will engage with country and other teams (including Vaccines, COVID-19 and Health Systems Strengthening) to provide TA related guidance while contributing to planning, analysis, and performance reviews. The PM will also be expected to provide grants and other management support across all envelopes managed by the Partners’ Engagement Framework (including Targeted Country Assistance-TCA, Strategic Focus Area-SFA and Foundational Support-FS) as well as operational support for COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery Support-CDS3 and HPV revitalisation. Key functions and deliverables: |
End to end engagement for PEF TCA, CDS TA and other TA management for selected countries:
• Provide support on the planning, monitoring, contracting, and reporting for PEF TCA opportunities; • Ensure that the core processes associated with PEF for allocated countries are well coordinated and implemented; • Work with Country Programme Delivery (CPD) team to identity needs, gaps and bottlenecks for countries and coordinate effective support; • Support CPD team to engage country-level partners on their role and responsibilities in providing the technical assistance; • Support with CDS TA application review, implementation, and reporting. • Minimum five years of relevant work experience;
• Experience in immunisation programmes or health systems a great asset; • Experience working in/with developing countries on technical assistance a great asset • Some grant, project- and/or programme-management experience required, including in situations of considerable complexity, challenging environments and political sensitivity; • Experience in bilateral and multilateral aid environments an asset. |

• Written and spoken fluency in English essential.

• Advanced university degree in public health, health economics, development or social sciences, business administration (with experience in international development) or related field, or other relevant qualification.
