icddr,b, in collaboration with partners will implement “USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)” both at national and sub-national levels. Under CNHA, the consortium will work with different departments of the ministries, especially the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) at the national, regional, and local levels, to improve nutrition status by strengthening the community health system and support the effective implementation of the Second National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPAN2).

The Programme Officer will report to the Principal Investigator. The position holder will be responsible to provide regular support to CNHA project and maintain regular communication with PI of icddr,b, provide necessary assistance to CNHA MEL team, prepare and compile all the decisions made by CNHA study, check the field data and reports regularly, and share it with the PI under “USAID’s Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)” project.

Major responsibilities:

• Provide regular support to CNHA project and maintain regular communication with PI of icddr,b
• Maintain liaison with consortium partners
• Provide necessary assistance to the CNHA MEL Team as and when required
• Attend CNHA project meeting regularly and share the discussion point to the PI of icddr,b
• Attend consortium’s training event
• Plan, communicate, and organize field visits as per study need;
• Prepare and compile all the decisions, field data and reports and share it with the PI of icddr,b on a regular basis
• Identify areas of improvement and provide necessary assistance as and when required;

Required qualification and experience:

• Master’s degree in any discipline with good academic records from a reputed University (Preferable subjects are Population Science, Statistics, and Applied Statistics)
• 3 years of experience (experience in public health programs and research is preferred)
• Experienced in handling MIS data and statistical analysis candidates will be given preference.

Contract Type and duration:

• Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 57,048/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
