Project Associate, Uzbekistan (readvertised)

Under the supervision of the Country Representative, in close consultation with Project Manager, the Project Associate will support the Project Manager in the overall project management and activities implementation, such as work plans, activity implementation, monitoring, procurement, and reporting, among others.

The Project Associate will have opportunities to support the implementation of various activities under the on-going project, including Climate Smart Agriculture pilot interventions, capacity-building programs, media campaigns, and operations of the digital platforms for diverse internal and external stakeholders as well as other strategic areas identified within GGGI’s Country Planning Framework.

PURPOSE
  • Support the Project Manager in implementing projects.
  • Assist monitoring and evaluating the regular status of the project and add quality value to the project report
  • Document project outputs and outcomes and ensure that programmatic lessons learnt are documented and used to generate a knowledge base for improved project practice and learning.
  • Actively provide operational and administrative support for the Project Manager in overall project management and team coordination.

ENGAGEMENT
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders for the effective project management and timely monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate events and sessions participated by various project stakeholder, including government and development partners, farmers, agriculture entrepreneurs and enabling institutions, and potential investors
  • Coordinate with project team members and stakeholders for the implementation of capacity building and awareness raising activities
  • Support the implementation of climate smart agriculture technologies pilots
  • Support the operations of GGGI’s Business Development Platform
  • Support the promotion of project result and lessons learnt
  • Support the new project development.
DELIVERY
  • Assist the project manager in the planning, management and coordination of the project;
  • Support the execution of the procurement process, including issuance of contracts and sub-contracts for activities in the field office by preparing and/or reviewing draft documents in the requested languages and conducting quality control for PM’s clearance
  • Support the organization of country program and/or project-related workshops, seminars or any other form of events, in developing plans, preparing related documents, and following up on logistics.
  • Support overall project implementation with the special focus on project outcome 2 (capacity building and awareness raising) and outcome 3 (climate smart agriculture technology pilot and business development platform) by great coordination with internal/external stakeholders
  • Draft project related documents, including background documents, official letters, press releases
  • Support the organization of regular monitoring meetings and participate in field monitoring missions to the project sites, if requested
  • Support the preparation of regular project updates and reports,, as well as, the organization of PIU & PSC
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Masters degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, environment, agriculture, or a related field of study (In lieu of a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree with considerable professional job experience can be acceptable)
  • Preferred 3-5 years of professional experience in project management and coordination.
  • Experience in organizing & facilitating events, workshops, consultation activities
  • Experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders, including financial institutions, government institutions, private-sector companies, NGOs, civil society, others, is a plus
  • Professional experience related to climate smart agriculture related projects is a plus
  • Fluency in Russian, Uzbek and English languages, both written and verbal.
FUNCTIONAL
  • Knowledge and experience in computers and software package (MS) & multi-media tools (video/audio/graphic design/power point, or lecture)
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in integration of diverse communication channels to reach different audiences (television, radio, lecture, booklet, android messenger/apps, etc.) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of green growth/climate resilient approaches in agribusiness is desirable.
  • Experience in coordination of high-level stakeholder dialogues is desirable.
