Project Coordination Officer

The Project Coordination Officer will be assisting the Program Lead in implementing the KOICA DigiGreen Youth project. This task involves monitoring project plans, project outputs, project outcomes, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. The Senior Project Coordination Officer aligns the project with goals and constructs detailed work plans, manages an implementing team, achieves milestones, and communicates the results across an audience of key stakeholders. The Officer will ensure that the outputs delivered are in line with project KPIs. under the leadership and guidance of the Country Representative and Program Lead.

PURPOSE

The Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the KOICA DigiGreen Youth project. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining project performance databases to track overall progress. The Officer will coordinate with GGGI experts and other departments (legal, HR, Procurement, etc.) to ensure high-quality delivery and compliance with GGGI’s rules and regulations. Additionally, the Officer will coordinate communicatinos among a multi-disciplinary team of staff members, consultants, and firms. As the key player in coordinating communications, the Officer will contribute the project smoothly between GGGI and stakeholders.

 

ENGAGEMENT
  • Engage with project team members to organize and coordinate the day-to-day activities, supported by the team members, with Cote d’Ivoire counterparts such as (but not limited to) government agencies, Societe National Development Informatique, Fondation Jeunesse Numerique, Better World, schools, universities, and others where applicable.
  • Lead the day-to-day communication with the donor and other development partners to ensure alignment and complementarity and identify opportunities for synergies and cooperation.
  • Participate as GGGI representative in the Project Steering Committee.
  • Originate and develop additional projects, including identifying resource mobilization opportunities and engaging with the donor community in Cote d’Ivoire.
  • Engage regularly with project team members, developing a culture aligned with GGGI’s values, and ensuring respect, accountability and excellence are at the core of project delivery in the country
  • Collaborate with GGGI colleagues in Country Office and HQ on project related matters to enable the delivery of high-quality products in accordance with GGGI standards.

 

DELIVERY
  • Coordinate activities, exchange information and provide technical advice to contribute to the achievement of overall project objectives
  • Develops technical and communications materials, supports efforts to enhance dialogue among stakeholders, and dissemination of lessons learned with GGGI staff, government partners, donors and other key stakeholders.
  • Collection/submission of information for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) purposes, and technical reporting and administrative reporting needs.
  • Adapt project cycle and enhance project implementation process to ensure project outcomes are delivered as planned.
  • Ensure successful completion of the project deliverables detailed in the Project Agreement.
  • Identify, manage and report risks and execute mitigation measures
  • Provide successful team management, ensuring GGGI’s core values are integrated into the team and that staff wellbeing is ensured.
  • Safeguards, Poverty Reduction and Social Inclusion be mainstreamed and/or applied in all deliverables, outputs and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with national legal frameworks and alignment with national strategies and action plans under the Agenda 2030 and NDC frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Finance, Business, Economics, International Relations, Engineering, Forestry (additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a postgraduate degree)
  • Preferred 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in developing countries in Africa, managing climate change adaptation and mitigation projects and leading team
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and report writing (in English and French).
  • Demonstrated experience in Africa including government engagement and project planning is asset
  • Proven success in building productive working relationships with donors and other development partners
  • Exceptional skills in building productive working relationships with colleagues, multiple stakeholders, donors and other development partners
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems within a performance-based management context.
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP, CDPM or Prince would be a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic context of Côte d’Ivoire and familiarity with digital skills initiatives and green entrepreneurship-related government policies and programs
  • Experience with the management of projects funded by the Korean government is an advantage.
  • Experience in mobilization of resources from financial institutions and development partners is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and French (Both written and spoken) are required.
  • This is an international position, requiring at least 2 years of international experience (i.e. experience outside of one’s home country).

  • Demonstrated experience in managing activities and deliverables that are supported and/or implemented by both international and local consultants.
