Result of Service
The ultimate result of the service is to assist ETC in fulfilling its project responsibilities related to organizing the Arab SMEs Summit – Marrakesh 2023, also to aid ETC in executing its project tasks linked to the Arab SMEs Summit, which encompasses desk research, active engagement in project implementation, with a specific focus on technology and entrepreneurship aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Contractors (IC) services are needed to assist ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) in implementing its project activities related to the organization of the Arab SMEs Summit. And carry out desk research and project implementation with a focus on technology and entrepreneurship and other associated tasks as mentioned below.
The IC will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC).
In particular, the Project Coordinator will be tasked to do the following:
• Collaborating with the ETC team to facilitate the planning and execution of the Arab SMEs Summit.
• Conducting comprehensive research on technology trends in the Arab region, collecting and organizing information from diverse sources, and providing relevant input.
• Coordinating the acquisition of knowledge and training materials for inclusion in ETC’s interactive toolboxes, and overseeing the collection process.
• Attending meetings and closely monitoring discussions related to the project’s objectives, incorporating these insights into required materials.
• Generating statistical tables, graphs, and contributing to the preparation of presentations and substantive content for ETC project deliverables.
• Assisting in the creation of agendas, informational materials, and presentations for ETC meetings.
• Drafting routine communications (emails, letters, memos, etc.) to engage with stakeholders as necessary.
• Managing and responding to various correspondence and meeting-related communications in English.
• Undertaking additional tasks and assignments as delegated.
The individual contractor will also assist in various administrative services through coordination and support of consultation meetings on the above subject.
Qualifications/special skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, Marketing, Communication Studies, Engineering, Information Technology, Event Management, Public Administration, Environmental Science, Architecture, Health Sciences, and/or related field is required.

A minimum of 3 years of practical experience encompassing project coordination, program administration, program management assistance, and other relevant fields closely associated with the role is required.
Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information from various sources is required.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
For this position, fluency in Arabic and English are required.
Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
