Role

The mission of the Capacity Building unit at the ISO Central Secretariat is to support the learning and development efforts of its 170 members worldwide, to strengthen member capacity at the institutional level, and to promote effective participation in international standardization. The unit implements a comprehensive development assistance programme for ISO members in developing countries and offers a wide range of training opportunities to all its members.
We are currently looking for a Project Coordinator (50 %) for the ISO Capacity Building unit, to join our team of professionals at the ISO Central Secretariat (ISO/CS) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

The project coordinator will support a team of programme and project managers working in the unit on the implementation of capacity building and training activities, mainly in developing countries. These activities are delivered through face-to-face events, virtual sessions, e-learning courses or in hybrid format.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the following operational tasks linked to capacity building activity:

  • Support the invitation and selection process of participants to the activity, such as setting-up event website and manage the invitation/registration/confirmation process of the participants;
  • Coordinate service agreements (for experts, interpreters, etc.) involved in delivering the activity;
  • Coordinate with the ISO member hosting the activity (mostly in developing countries) and provide logistics support to the activity, such as venue, travel, etc.;
  • Act as focal point between travel agency and participants to ensure smooth travel arrangements;
  • Format training materials and background documentation linked to the activity;
  • Prepare electronic satisfaction surveys and the analysis of results;
  • Collect data, compile reports, and prepare statistics on the activities;
  • Coordinate with project managers / programme managers to set up virtual instructor-led training sessions on the ISO digital learning platform;
  • Monitor users’ enrolment in eLearning courses on a regular basis and extract learning analytics reports from the ISO digital learning platform;
  • Provide support, in coordination with the Digital Learning Team Leader, to users experiencing difficulties with the ISO digital learning platform.

In addition, the project coordinator will also contribute to overall tasks to ensure a smooth functioning of the unit and in preparing any governance related meetings and related minutes taking, as and when needed.

Report to: Head, Planning and Operations

Qualification and Experience

  • CFC of commercial apprenticeship, baccalaureate, or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role within an international work environment;
  • Experience working with developing countries and/or in capacity building and training (face-to-face and virtual) would be an asset;
  • Fluent in English and French, including good writing skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams) required, experience in other tools (such as CVENT, zoom, smart survey) would be an asset;
  • Experience regarding database use, compilation of reports, minutes taking and procurement, would be an asset.
