Organizational Setting

The objective of the Department of Nuclear Energy is to foster the efficient and safe use of nuclear power by supporting interested Member States in improving the performance of nuclear power plants, the nuclear fuel cycle, and the management of nuclear wastes; in catalysing innovation in nuclear power and fuel cycle technologies; in developing indigenous capabilities for national energy planning; in deploying new nuclear power plants; in preserving and disseminating nuclear information and knowledge; and in advancing science and industry through improved operation of research reactors.

Main Purpose

Under the supervision of the MSCFP/LMP Project Manager and in close cooperation with other staff of the MSCFP/LMP Project Management Team and in the DDGO, the Project Finance Assistant (MSCFP) ensures the effective and timely processing of payments of MSCFP students and interns as well as LMP participants and other events, as required from extrabudgetary awards.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Assist in examining incoming invoices relating to the tuition costs of MSCFP students in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Follow up with students and universities on missing documents or clarifications required.
  • Respond promptly to enquiries from students on pending transactions.
  • Prepare obligations and payment requests related to MSCFP students’ stipend and tuitions.
  • Keep track of pending or due payments.
  • Assist in organizing events and LMP visits.
  • Create TRACS for event participants and process payments.
  • Assist with records management, data maintenance and other administrative tasks as required.

Required Expertise

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

  • Completed secondary education. Further education in finance and/or accounting is an advantage.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, some of which in an international organization.
  • Hands on experience with the use of the financial module of an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). Knowledge of Oracle is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise own work taking into account changing demands and to handle a large volume of work in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
  • Administrative skills test to IAEA standard might be part of the selection process.

Remuneration

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 48527 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks’ annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance.
