The services of the individual contractor will support the follow-up activities of the GSFC, as well as the implementation of the technical assistance activities of the SSP project and the preparation of the multi-year expert meeting.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Transport Section, Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics, the individual contractor will support the Transport Section team in the implementation of various activities related to the Section’s technical assistance project namely the UNDA Sustainable Smart Port (SSP) project, follow-up to the Global Supply Chain Forum held in Barbados in May 2024, and the preparation of the Multi-Year Expert Meeting to be held in October 2024. Specific tasks are as follows: 1. Provide follow-up support to the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF), including summaries of the sessions organized by the Section, responding to e-mails and updating all information and presentations on the web. 2. Support the implementation and management of the SSP survey in Mauritius and Ghana, evaluating and analyzing the responses received, presenting the results in a graphical format and drafting the outcome. 3. Provide general technical and administrative support as deemed necessary for the implementation and follow-up of the Section’s projects, i.e. liaising with project stakeholders, updating the project website, identifying consultants, drafting notes, organizing training material, attending meetings, etc.. 4. Provide backstopping, both substantive and administrative, to the Section activities including support to the organizing and service of the Multi-year expert meeting. 5. Support the development of the new section website, including revising content, uploading new information and attending meetings. The individual contractor is also expected to liaise with various UNCTAD Divisions/Branches and contribute to the effective communication with relevant stakeholders. The individual contractor will be hired locally and s/he will be responsible for obtaining the visas or work permit before commencing the assignment with the Organization.
Qualifications/special skills
Master in the fields of sustainable development, economics, trade, transport, or related areas, is required. Experience in research and analysis is required.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
