The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Project Management Data and Insights Lead in Centre –London, UK or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide

ROLE PURPOSE:

The PMM PRIME project, part of the CAPP programme, has the objective of improving project management across Save the Children for all of our operational programming. The project introduces a Project Management Methodology (PMM) and a Project Management Information System (PRIME).

The Project Management Data & Analytics Lead will be responsible for:

  • establishing a clear and effective set of cross-functional and cross-application project management metrics by which the organisation can track the progress of projects, which are aligned to and contribute to operational KPIs,
  • delivering a suite of standard reports in PRIME, agreeing a roadmap for project management reporting, and developing report building capabilities in the PRIME team,
  • contributing to the solution architecture and business processes for data flows in and out of PRIME in relation to monitoring and evaluation of projects.

The successful candidate will be able to engage strategically with senior leaders to gain agreement on application and business roadmaps as well as be hands on in building and testing reports in PRIME and training support team members.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Proficient at leading strategic work-packages, influencing and getting agreement from key stakeholders including senior leaders, and delivering desired outcomes
  • Experience of working on organisational change projects; developing a new tool or business process
  • Proficient at understanding stakeholder requirements and using analytical skills to design effective solutions
  • Ability to capture and document requirements and then translate into deliverables
  • Experience of getting strategic agreement on KPIs/operational metrics
  • Understanding of/experience of project management/programme management and the metrics used in tracking status
  • Understanding of data models and relational database design principles
  • Proficient at designing, building and testing reports and dashboards in Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel/Word & PowerPoint including the use of Macros, Pivot Tables and producing visualisations
  • Passion for data and highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience of delivering projects on time
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of Reference Data, Data Quality, Metadata Management
  • Good knowledge of Data related topics such as compliance, management and data quality
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in an International Non-Governmental Organisation
  • Experience in working with multi location, multi cultural project team members
  • Experience of different reporting softwares, knowledge of what good looks like, advising on which reporting platforms to use, driving/influencing a vendor’s product roadmap for analytics
  • Experience writing requirements for reporting attributes for user stories
  • Have worked on projects that use data warehousing or cloud based computing (Azure or similar)

We can offer circa £55,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
