Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the Director-General of UNON is the representative of the Secretary-General in Kenya. UNON supports programme implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Resident Coordination System (RCS) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, security, conference and information services (www.unon.org).
UNON has embarked in the review of its recruitment process and tool. The Project Manager for the recruitment automation review will be responsible to coordinate the project coordination managing the interface between clients, subject matter experts and IT developers.
This role encompasses various aspects, including refinement of requirements, close coordination with the development team responsible for the recruitment platform/tool, workflow optimization, client engagement, coordination of documentation, supervising testing, and planning/execution of the roll out. The recruitment tool is Oracle PeopleSoft.
The Project Manager will ensure the project’s successful delivery within specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, and risk.
This position will report to the Chief of Talent Acquisition and ultimately, the Chief of HRMS. It is based in Nairobi and will integrate into an ongoing and high pace project.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership: Coordinate UNON’s recruitment optimization project in accordance with the project’s requirements, ensuring alignment with UNON’s goals and priorities.
2. Process Optimization and Technical Alignment: Collaborate closely with clients, subject matter experts and internal developers/experts in Oracle PeopleSoft to ensure that the revised workflows
3. SOP and Workflow Development: Develop and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows for the CBO recruitment process, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and adherence to UN guidelines.
4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
5. Communication and Training Materials: Develop relevant communication materials and a training strategy .
6. Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain the quality of recruitment services provided under the CBO framework, continuously seeking improvements.

Qualifications/special skills

1) An Advanced degree in Project Management, IT, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field is required. A bachelor’s degree in related field with two extra years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
2) A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a track record of successfully managing projects that require process automation and optimization is required.
3) Familiarity with UN recruitment processes is desirable but not a must.
4)Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft software is required
5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment is required.
6) Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies is required.

Languages

Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
