THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement an 18-month project entitled: Safeguarding young people from the dark path of self-facilitated live streaming of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA).

The project is in partnership with Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. and ECPAT Philippines. The project is a participatory action research, that looks into the “value chain” of live streaming of CSEA in the Philippines, outlining the livestreaming risk factors, the processes which victims and perpetrators go through, and the perceived “benefits” and consequences of the actions.

The objective of the research aims to contribute to the generation of solutions to live streaming of abuse in the online CSEA landscape, within prevention, detection, and response to online CSEA

In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

 

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing the project implementation/research study to ensure it is completed timely and within the budget. She/He will plan and coordinate the initiation of the research study protocol, coordinate activities with the research consultant and project partner (ECPAT), organization of research advisory board, and act as the primary point of contact for the project.

Further, as the Project Manager:

 

 

  • You will conduct field visits, as necessary, and provide technical recommendations in coordination with the Portfolio Manager.
  • You will prepare periodic reports on the implementation of project activities.
  • You will facilitate and ensure the involvement of children as primary stakeholders in the project.
  • You will assist and facilitate regular reviews of the project with the project team, consortium, and alliance partners.
  • You will work closely with child online protection players, tech partners, telecoms, private sectors, government, and CSOs, develop partnerships to leverage resources, and strengthen advocacy efforts.
  • Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.

 

 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

 

  • University degree in social work, psychology, social sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of one-year research study experience.
  • Familiarity with community research-based principles.
  • With experience in Child Protection programs, three years of which in the community development sector doing research, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating child protection programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a complex and varied workload, often to tight deadlines.
  • Strong competency in critical thinking, result-oriented, and communication skills.
  • Strong background in project management, partnership building/networking, advocacy, NGO leadership, and management is highly desirable.
  • Very good command of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.
